Respect Life this weekend

This weekend is full of opportunities to witness for life. Some families are going to want to do different things and will have different comfort levels and priorities. We will not coalesce as a group for any given event, but please consider attending an event. Please read the email and prayerfully consider serving the Lord this weekend:

Good Morning, Everyone!

Lots of events this week for Respect Life! First, we will be covering our 2nd day of the 40 Days for Life Campaign this Friday, March 23rd at A Preferred Women's Health Center 3220 Latrobe Dr. Charlotte, NC 28211 from 7AM-7PM. Right now we have great coverage (THANK YOU!!) except for two times, the 7-8AM slot and the 3-4PM slot. I encourage you to come out even for a few minutes anytime through the day as your presence does make a difference! You can either sign up on line at:

or you can email me your preference and I can sign you up.

Also, another huge opportunity to make our voice heard is "The Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rally" which will be held from 12-1PM at the Federal Courthouse on 401 W.Trade St on Friday as well. It is not an officially sponsored event by The Church or The Diocese, but it does have the backing of several Catholic organizations. For more information, go to:

Lastly, we will be having our monthly Pro-Life Mass this Saturday at 9AM with Holy Hour or the option of going to the abortion mill to pray the rosary with others.

Service-wise, The St Ann's Women's Society is collecting adult diapers to be sent to the Missionaries of The Poor in Jamaica. The Brothers are in great need of them. Collections have been slow, so I told, Chris Brunhuber that I would get the word out to all of you as this too is a respect life issue!

Thank you for all your do for LIFE!!

Blessings,

Danielle

Getting back into the Spring of things

February:
Please note that we will not have a February 20th trip. We will make it up to Tryon this year sometime during the Easter Season. (April/May)

Postulants will have a review session for rubrics and the test on February 13th. Please ensure that you are taking the time to train at home. All Postulants will then take the written test and skills test on February 27th with Fr. Reid.

March:

First Missa Cantata of the year will be held in March for the Annunciation. We're looking for volunteers for all positions.

If there are any social opportunities or events you want to do, please submit suggestions. We're all ears...

Winter is coming...

The schedule has been updated!

Please check the Mass and Training schedules for updates. I admit to doing it late at night so be wary of mistakes. Big ticket items coming up:

  • This coming Wednesday, November 9th, we will have the Rank Ceremony after the Low Mass. For those who have taken the Senior Acolyte Test at home, I need you to either drop it off at the St. Ann's office in an envelope addressed to me - David Liberto - or scan it and email it to me no later than 12:00 PM Sunday November 6th. Be sure to have sent your application for advancement as well if you haven't already. If you want to take the test, email me immediately.

  • Wednesday December 7th - Missa Cantata for the Vigil of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception

  • Saturday December 17th - Solemn High Mass

Postulants need to practice their Latin on a regular basis. Please contact me if you need to arrange special sessions to practice with myself or a willing server. No excuses.

Enjoy your week!

Encouragement for the Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

We have a number of servers applying for advancement to the level of Senior Acolyte. In addition to an absolutely grueling, horrific, terrifying, and painful 20 question test, the servers must also be open to a devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

In the first rank, Junior Acolyte, an devotion to the Blessed Mother of God is encouraged because Mary leads us to Jesus. Therefore, the second rank serves to fulfill that path in the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Sacraments and Adoration are specifically encouraged as a way to embrace and experience Jesus Christ. Without faith in Christ, detailed movements and Latin phrases in the Mass are empty.

Also, the First Friday devotion is encouraged in addition to learning about St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. Please follow the links to learn more.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
